Would you be turned off if your date talked about their ex on the first date? What do you think? Would hearing about their ex make you lose interest, or does it depend on how they bring it up?

Context matters. Doesn't have to necessarily be a dealbreaker.

It really depends on how it gets brought up. Also about how they discussed why the went their separate ways. I don't think it's smart to bash the other person it's a big red flag no matter how things have ended at that point they need to work on themselves before starting to date.
