I'm just saying that the wedding doesn't make he marriage. You can have a wonderful marriage without the big party. And as for feeling like a princess, cheri, you don't need the dress - that's your spouse's job.

Agreed... Thousands of dollars for a dress you wear once.. Again - you are totally entitled to want what you want - and I get that whole "special day" thing. My ex and I had the big wedding, and it was great. The whole thing cost easily $20k - and that was over 20 years ago.
