WooPlus, the world’s leading dating community for curvy people and activist Chrisy Chris announce the inaugural Curvy Campcation retreat celebrating every race, body type and size, and underscoring the burgeoning body positive movement. Held on a riverfront cabin in The Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee, September 21-23, 2018, Curvy Campcation promotes women empowerment, positive mental health and confidence building for curvy people to break down barriers, embrace themselves, and engage in a dynamic weekend including mixer meets, networking power hours with confidence coaches and public figures, along with a range of fun activities.
Co-founded by advocate and human service worker, Chrisy Chris, who profoundly understands the impact of positive mental health and body positivity within the community (and lack thereof), “WooPlus revealed that a shocking number of women have been harassed on a number of general dating apps – more than 71% claiming that they’ve been FAT-SHAMED,” she shared. “WooPlus launched to provide a more enlightened and diverse app to the dating community. Partnering with them on Curvy Campcation is a tremendous opportunity to empower women and men with practical tools to date and love and share in this energizing weekend that stages the momentous body positive shift in our culture.”
Leading up to Curvy Campcation in September, and in celebration of the growing body positive movement, WooPlus and Chrisy Chris encourage people to share their own body positive stories on Instagram (hashtag #curvycampcation). Hundreds of people have posted their stories already, and tickets will be offered to those who share a same body-positive perspective.
